I have downloaded WinSrv 2012 evaluation and have to report that I cannot reproduce your problem. Here is what I have done:
- VM on WS 8.0.2.build-591240: os=WinSrv 2008 R2 x64, ram=2GB, scsi-0-0-disk=80GB, disktype=SPLIT_SPARSE
- Installed Operating System: os=MS WinSrv 2012 Standard Evaluation, version=6.2.9200 Build 9200
- VDDK in use: VMware VixDiskLib (5.0) Release build-614080
- Mount machine: os=MS WinXP Pro, version=5.1.2600 SP3 Build 2600, systemtype=x86
- Mount program is executed with administrative privileges.
- Mounting is done RW and ReadOnly
I have used my test mount routine to go and try mounting the WinSrv 2012 disk and it just worked as expected. I even tried the call to FindFirstFile(...) everything is just working as expected. Also drive letter mapping is looking good in Windows Explorer.
