Workstation 8.06 and hostAgentStats-20.stats

Hi;

  I'm running VMware Workstation 8.0.6 host under Windows 7 64-bit. I've been trying to figure out why the Wear rate on my new SSD seems higher than I expected.

  In the process of investigating this with the tool xperf, I noticed that the file C:\ProgramData\VMware\hostd\stats\hostAgentStats-20.stats is getting written to all the time whether I'm running any VM's or not (even when I'm both not running any VM's and not running the UI interface). About 10.2 MB/hour from the 'system' process.

  What is this file for, and can I shut it off? If it's normally needed, can it be shut off at least when no VM's are running?
