We’ve 2 Vcenters linked and I’ve upgraded one to 5.1 whilst one remains at 5.0 for a short while.
I want to use the old VI client alongside the web client on the new 5.1 server and I believed the old client was supported for a few more revisions until being retired.
Question is, when I point the VI old fat client to the new 6.1 Vcenter server I get an error which I sort of expected as now this Vcenter isn’t responsible for checking and signing me on, it should now be the SSO server but you cant point the old client to a SSO server, only a web client I thought. The only way I can use the old client to access the 5.1 VCenter is to connect to the 5.0 server and as they’re linked I can administer it from there.
Any ideas?
